For the second consecutive year Hi-Line alongside Field and Lawn (link opens in new tab) have been tasked with the installation of Christmas and celebratory lights within the London planes in central London. The works are estimated to take 3 weeks and are all having to be done at night due to traffic constraints, as with all our projects we have had to pay considerable mind to the planning and preparation, because with so many moving parts including multiple contractors, mobile elevated work platforms, traffic management and night shifts, we can ill afford any mistakes.

We have a unique perspective of this job because we are qualified arborists, a lot of the equipment we are installing is heavy and could easily be detrimental to the tree, especially when combined with the lovely weather we are exposed to in the UK. Our experience enables our operatives to select better attachment points and inform our clients of any significant defects found within the trees crown that could cause a potential hazard to the public or surrounding property.

So next time you see a large tree with Christmas lights, you will know how much challenging work has gone into their installation!
