Leading arboriculture service provider Hi-Line, an RSK company, has been awarded one of the most highly coveted local authority projects in the southwest – a seven-year green infrastructure service contract with Torbay Council. This which will commence from 1 April 2022. This marks the third successive contract awarded to Hi-Line by the Council.
Hugh Griffiths Hi-Line Managing Director says “This is fantastic news, and I would like to congratulate the bid team on all their hard work in not only winning, but also retaining this
sought after contract. We look to developing and building our partnership approach to the delivery of the new green infrastructure service with Torbay Council.”
Hi-Line’s competitive edge was supported by its new parent company, RSK Group, a leading environmental services company. The support of RSK has strengthened Hi-Line’s environmental and sustainability credentials and allowed for Hi-Line to fully align with Torbay Council’s 2030 Carbon Neutral plan. The green infrastructure contract will be delivered using battery powered hand tools and an electric fleet, once technology allows.
Cllr Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture for Torbay Council, said; “As a council we are absolutely committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030 and we’re pleased that RSK Hi-Line share our vision as we continue to decarbonise across all aspects of our business. RSK Hi-Line will be providing support around our Green Infrastructure initiatives and providing resilient arboricultural services across Torbay. Key to the work going forward will be the management of our existing tree canopy with soon to be released data from the i-tree2 survey informing our strategy and management policies including strategic tree planting.”
Where Hi-Line stands out amongst hefty competition in the market is in a mixture of the organisations well-established expertise and the approach taken to sustainability and customer satisfaction. Despite the organisations rapidly growing size.
Ian Strudwick, Agriculture, land and property management divisional director and member of the RSK Group Board said: “I am delighted Hi-Line have been awarded this prestigious long-term contract with Torbay Council, recognising its fantastic growth and continued drive towards a sustainable and green future in the south west and beyond.
Hi-Line was also awarded the Arboricultural Services contract with Barnet Homes in 2020 – another successful contribution to its growing portfolio of public sector and commercial arboriculture contracts. Hi-Line has provided a full suite of utility arboriculture services to a large number of customers across the southwest of England. Including retaining various contracts for Western Power Distribution for over 20 years.
Hi-Line is setting the standard for offering high-quality arboriculture services and training.Learning and development is at the heart of our drive for continual improvement and our commitment to recruiting, developing and retaining the very best people.
